Projects and activities (1999 - january 2004)

2004: Ran a 3 day Song-Writing and Recording Workshop at Paluma rainforest retreat as part of the WRAPT Project.

2003: Appointed to governing group for the Australian ISCM Section
2003: Commissioned by the ABC as part of the second Earclips project to compose a work for radio “Coming Home” for national broadcast.
2003: The ABC commission from 2002 “Water Songs” was released on the “Anthology of Australian Music on Disc” No. 37.

2003: Composed a 35 minute soundscape Riverscape which was released on DVD.
2003: Supplied and mixed the PA sound for Cultural Festival 2003
2003: Composed a 23 minute soundscape The Fearful Heart which was released on CD.
2003: Ran a series of recording workshops for Townsville Grammar School
2003: Composed a 75 minute soundscape Palm Creek Rainforest Festival 2003 which was released on CD
2003: Took part in Creative Volunteering – No Limits, the first nationally recognised and coordinated training program for volunteers in the cultural sector.
2003: Co-ordinated, co-wrote and recorded 12 songs for a CD of stories of Townsville to celebrate the Centenary of the City.
2003: Ran a holiday song-writing and recording workshop for Townsville Council
2003: Arranged, produced and recorded a CD of music by Torres Strait singer/songwriter Pat Levi.
2002/03: Elected to the Committee of the Townsville Folk and Acoustic Music Club.

2002: Composed and performed as half of the duo Silent Beat, a 40 minute, 11 movement work for percussion and electronics.
2002: Composed music for a youth theatre project for Thuringowa Council
2002: Performed at Palm Creek, Pinnacles Gallery and Umbrella Gallery original songs as part of the folk/rock duo Dr Mick and the Honourable Vic.
2002: Composed music for the youth theatre project – Flash Alice.
2002: Advised and presented a proposal to the Mayor and CEO of Thuringowa Council, plans for a Performing Arts Complex for the Riverway Project.
2002: Supplied and mixed the PA sound for Cultural Festival 2002
2002: Ran a series of recording workshops for Townsville Grammar School
2002: Re-appointed to the Board of the Australian Music Centre for a further two years
2002: Managed and directed the River Festival for Thuringowa Council with a $100,000 budget
2002: Opened the Sound Space, a professional recording studio, in Townsville.
2002: Commissioned by the ABC to compose a work for radio for national broadcast to celebrate its 75th birthday.
2002: Served on the selection panel for the 2002 Australian Music Awards for APRA and the Australian Music Centre.
2002: Undertook Certificate IV in Workplace Training

2001: Designed and mixed the PA sound for two large festivals – Palm Creek Folk Music and the Cultural Festival.
2001: Composed music for the youth theatre project – Splish Splash.
2001: Co-composed music for the Film Australia production - Media Nomads
2001: Coordinated a weekend percussion workshop project at Paluma
2001: Performed original songs as part of the folk/rock trio Joe’s Garage at Yungaburra Folk Festival, Palm Creek Folk Festival, JCU and the Umbrella Gallery.
2001: Recorded and co-wrote music for a CD of local folk/rock group Joe’s Garage – Eat at Joe’s
2001: Elected to the Board of the Australian Music Centre
2001: Co-wrote two of the winning songs in the Centenary of Federation Song-writing contest organised by Townsville City Council.
2001: Engineered and wrote approximately 20 ads for Jingles, Australia
2001: Arranged music for the musical The Threepenny Opera
2000 – 01: Appointed to the Score Reading Panel to advise on contemporary repertoire for Symphony Australia
2001: Served on the selection panel for the 2002 Australian Music Awards for APRA and the Australian Music Centre.
2000 - 01: Coordinated and programmed the music for the Fridays at Five Fifteen Concert Series and the River Festival 2000 & 2001 for Thuringowa Council.
2000 - 01: Coordinated project and composed music for a major Centenary of Federation funded project - Aspirations / Inspirations, involving 11 other artists and a $100,000 budget.

2000: Designed and mixed the PA sound for two large festivals – Palm Creek Folk Music and the Cultural Festival.
2000: Designed a sound installation - The Sound Booth, for Umbrella Gallery .
2000: Composed music for the youth theatre project - Star Thief.
2000: Collaborated with other artists in the creation of a major multimedia work that toured eastern Australia – Bonemap
2000: Coordinated the project and recorded the music for the Melting Pot, a CD of local youth musicians.
2000: Designed and aided in the building of an outdoor, interactive sound playground – The Sound Garden
2000: Created a substantial environmental sound documentary of our local region for CD release - Townsville by Land and Sea.

1999 – 2003: Regularly served as an Assessor for the Australian Music Centre (Australia’s officially recognised international representation of Australian Music) for composers seeking representation with the Centre.
1999 – 2002: Coordinated Arts Exposure, an organisation offering arts courses to the general public
1999 – 2001: Taught Music Technology at James Cook University
1999 – 2001: Recorded a range of CDs of local high school and other musicians
1999: Co-composed music for the SBS film - Memories
1999: Created a substantial environmental sound documentary of the Nepean River region in Sydney
